A newly announced international collaboration between Canada and Australia will benefit medical imaging, radiation therapy and the minerals industry.
The Canadian Light Source (CLS) at the University of Saskatechewan (Saskatoon, SK) has signed a research agreement with the Australian Synchrotron (Melbourne, Australia) in an effort to advance techniques and technologies in synchrotron research.
Investigators from the two institutions have already begun collaborating on a beamline that targets mineral applications. Additionally, they plan to use beamlines to improve diagnostics and treatments in medical imaging and radiation.
The CLS signed another agreement early last year with Sincrotrone ELETTRA (Trieste, Italy) to develop its Life Science Imaging Laboratory.
